The Operational Technology Projects team delivers project‑based work across the Wessex Water region, providing solutions for all elements of operational technology. This is a hands‑on role where you'll join a dedicated and experienced team of Engineers and Technicians, working with Operational Technology across water treatment, water recovery and pumping station facilities. You'll bring a free‑thinking, can‑do attitude and a flexible approach to engineering challenges, working closely with wider project delivery teams and operations. We recognise that this is a complex and challenging role, so ongoing development and training opportunities across all areas will be available for the right individuals.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver OT project work
Software and control system development
Acceptance testing on new control panels
Legacy system upgrades
Process control modifications
Communications solutions
Telemetry testing
On‑site commissioning
Follow design standards and health and safety procedures
Requirements:
Practical hands-on and technical ability
Passion for engineering
Desire for self-development and learning
Experience with Industrial Control Systems and OT
Ability to interrogate, develop and modify industrial control systems and/or software
Experience with PLCs, instrumentation, communications, IP networking, motor/pump control, SCADA and telemetry systems
Electrically competent with a level 3 qualification (desirable)
Good IT skills
Good communicator at all levels
Ability to manage your own projects and workload
Team player
Technical engineering qualification (desirable)
