We are seeking a skilled professional to support and enhance OSS platform operations for UK network environments, ensuring high service availability, efficient performance, and continuous improvement. This role focuses on managing and optimising multi-domain OSS applications, driving automation, and enabling proactive monitoring to support reliable network operations. The individual will contribute to transforming traditional operations into streamlined, data-driven, and automated processes while collaborating across teams and vendors.
Job Responsibility
Ensure high availability and reliability of OSS applications within scope
Take end-to-end ownership of incident resolution, including fault identification, troubleshooting, and closure within agreed targets
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for debugging, issue resolution, and performance improvements
Coordinate planned and unplanned changes, including system upgrades, deployments, and integrations
Support application lifecycle management, including upgrades, bug fixes, and capacity planning
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for automation and process optimisation
Manage user access, dashboards, KPIs, monitoring, and alerting systems across platforms
Work closely with network teams to improve integrations between systems and monitoring tools
Produce operational and value-based performance reports for stakeholders
Contribute to knowledge sharing and support capability building within the wider team
Requirements
Experience in telecom OSS environments with strong knowledge of NMS/EMS platforms
Familiarity with tools such as Huawei U2000, Nokia NetAct, Ericsson ENM, or similar systems
Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and scripting/coding (e.g., Python, Shell, APIs)
Understanding of monitoring tools and OSS systems such as Nagios, SolarWinds, or similar
Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and virtualisation technologies
Understanding of networking protocols and architectures (e.g., SNMP, ICMP, MPLS, SD-WAN)
Knowledge of ITIL practices and Agile methodologies
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Willingness to work in a rotational shift environment and adapt to evolving priorities
A continuous learning mindset with the ability to guide and support colleagues
