We are seeking a dynamic and self-driven professional to support and advance digital initiatives across multi-domain, multi-vendor OSS platforms within the Group Network Operations function. The role focuses on ensuring operational excellence, high service availability, and proactive monitoring of UK OSS platforms while contributing to the transformation towards zero-touch operations. This position requires strong technical expertise in OSS applications, Agile and ITIL practices, and a collaborative approach to delivering reliable and scalable network operations capabilities
Job Responsibility
Ensure high availability of all in-scope OSS applications at all times
Take end-to-end ownership of incident resolution for application faults and alerts within agreed SLAs
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of application issues
Collaborate across teams for planned and unplanned changes, ensuring clear communication and business justification
Support integration improvements between NMS/EMS applications and alarm/ticketing platforms
Manage UAT and production deployments for application and OS upgrades
Contribute to planning for system growth, upgrades, licensing, and feature enablement
Simplify requirement gathering and enhance change, incident, and problem management processes
Manage user access, KPIs, dashboards, monitoring, alerting, and their lifecycle
Generate operational and business value reports, including KPI performance
Identify and implement process improvements through automation
Document standard operating procedures and mentor team members to build capability
Requirements
Demonstrated experience (8+ years) within Telecom OSS environments
Hands-on expertise in configuring or customising NMS/EMS tools (e.g., Huawei U2000/MAE, Nokia NetAct, Ericsson ENM/OSS-RC, Alcatel OMS, etc.)
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, scripting (Python, Shell), and API development with automation capabilities
Foundational understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Wind River) and virtualisation technologies (VMware)
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as TeMIP, Nagios, SolarWinds, Spectrum, or Netscout
Understanding of networking protocols (SNMP, ICMP, Netconf) and architectures (WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS)
Knowledge of ITIL practices and Agile methodologies (Scrum)
Ability to work flexibly across multiple assignments, including 24/7 shift environments
Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and guide others
