Job Description:

Xcel is looking for an experienced OSI PI Architect to design, implement, and support enterprise-scale OSIsoft PI System solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PI architecture, system integration, performance tuning, and data historian best practices.

Job Responsibility:

  • Architect and design end-to-end OSI PI System solutions
  • Install, configure, and manage PI Server, PI AF, PI Vision
  • Design and implement Asset Framework (AF) models and hierarchies
  • Configure and manage PI Interfaces / PI Connectors for real-time data ingestion
  • Ensure system scalability, high availability, and performance optimization
  • Manage PI data security, user access, and governance standards
  • Support upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and production issues
  • Integrate PI data with enterprise systems (SCADA, DCS, MES, ERP, Cloud)
  • Create technical documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams
  • Work closely with business, OT, and IT teams to deliver PI solutions

Requirements:

  • Strong experience as an OSI PI Architect / PI System Architect
  • Hands-on knowledge of PI Server, PI AF, PI Vision
  • Experience with PI Interfaces / Connectors (OPC, Modbus, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of Industrial Data Historian concepts
  • Performance tuning, troubleshooting, and system monitoring experience
  • Experience with Windows Server environments
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience with High Availability / Disaster Recovery setup for PI
  • Knowledge of Azure / AWS integrations
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell)
  • Oil & Gas / Utilities / Manufacturing domain exposure
