Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Incumbent assists physicians and nurses in the medical care and treatment of orthopedic outpatients. Performs clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.

Requirements

  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated completion of extremity immobilization and/or casting workshop within 6 months of hire
  • BLS certification upon hire
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to maintain a flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds

Nice to have

  • Previous experience working as an Orthopedic Tech in an ambulatory setting
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese
