We are looking for a highly skilled Ornamental Metals Estimator to join our construction client's team in New York, New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage bidding processes effectively. This position requires attention to detail and proficiency with relevant software tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct detailed takeoffs for both interior and exterior projects, ensuring precision in all estimations
Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and Excel to analyze project plans and specifications efficiently
Collaborate with clients and contractors to communicate project needs and secure bids
Interpret and review technical specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements
Maintain a strong work ethic and adhere to deadlines set by organized contractors
Prepare and manage bids for projects involving major contractors, such as Structure Tone, Turner, and Lend Lease
Work closely with stakeholders to identify project scope and cost implications
Ensure all estimates align with organizational standards and client expectations
Continuously update knowledge of industry practices and standards to improve estimating processes
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction estimating or a related field
Proficiency in Bluebeam and Excel
Strong ability to interpret and analyze project specifications and plans
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and contractors
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently
Knowledge of bidding processes for major contractors such as Structure Tone and Turner
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Familiarity with the construction industry and its practices
