As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will be the first point of contact in BotPenguin's sales engine — responsible for both inbound lead qualification and outbound prospecting. You will identify, engage, qualify, and nurture prospects through the early stages of the sales funnel, ultimately scheduling and confirming high-quality product demos for the Account Executive team. This is a high-impact, target-driven role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced SaaS sales environment and takes ownership of pipeline generation from day one.
Job Responsibility:
Research and identify potential customers across target industries, geographies, and company profiles
Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects through channels such as LinkedIn, email sequences, and cold calling
Craft personalised outreach messages that speak to prospect pain points and relevant BotPenguin use cases
Engage promptly with inbound leads and initiate discovery conversations to understand their requirements
Identify customer pain points, use cases, and business challenges to assess product fit
Provide a compelling high-level overview of BotPenguin and its value proposition
Qualify both inbound and outbound leads against defined ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) criteria, educate and nurture them
Schedule product demo meetings for Account Executives with qualified prospects
Send timely reminders and follow-ups to maximise demo attendance and reduce no-shows
Ensure smooth handoff to Account Executives with complete context on each prospect
Maintain accurate and up-to-date lead information, activities, and pipeline status in the CRM system
Track outreach cadences, response rates, and qualification metrics
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to refine messaging, improve lead quality, and increase conversion rates
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
1–2 years of experience in sales, inside sales, SDR/BDR roles, or lead generation
Prior experience in SaaS or tech sales is mandatory
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage prospects confidently
Proven ability to conduct discovery conversations and identify customer pain points
Comfortable with cold outreach — email, LinkedIn, and cold calling
Strong follow-up discipline and ability to manage a high-volume pipeline
Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho) and sales engagement platforms (e.g., Apollo, Outreach, Lemlist)
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in a target-driven environment
Strong time management and organisational skills
