Job Description

Location: Hybrid in Suitland, MD- Onsite once (1) per week is anticipated requirement. Travel: Ability to be onsite in Suitland, MD for project support as needed. Years’ Experience: 7+ Years of experience. Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT related field. Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance. Key Skills: Hands on Oracle Exadata on premises support. Administer, optimize, and maintain Oracle Exadata on premises environments including multitenant RAC, ASM, storage cells, compute nodes, patching cycles, partitioning, backup/recovery, transportable tablespaces, and Data Guard/standby deployments. Manage and support AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Oracle RDS production workloads. Strong experience administering and troubleshooting Oracle 19c multitenant RAC and ASM.

Job Responsibility

  • Administer, optimize, and maintain Oracle Exadata on premises environments including multitenant RAC, ASM, storage cells, compute nodes, patching cycles, partitioning, backup/recovery, transportable tablespaces, and Data Guard/standby deployments
  • Perform lifecycle activities for Oracle environments including provisioning, cloning, upgrades (19c → 26ai), patch set updates, system tuning, incident troubleshooting, and capacity planning
  • Manage and support AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Oracle RDS production workloads, including parameter tuning, backup strategies, snapshot management, CloudWatch monitoring, and performance diagnostics
  • Design and implement PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL functions, queries, and performance tuned procedures for large enterprise datasets
  • Automate deployments and configuration using AWS services (CloudFormation/Terraform, CloudWatch, Lambda, S3) and infrastructure as code best practices
  • Ensure security compliance across on prem and cloud environments, including RMAN encryption, Oracle Wallet/TDE, parameter hardening, AWS IAM/role policies, and alignment with NIST 800 53 and FedRAMP requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, and application teams to support integrations, troubleshoot cross platform issues, and maintain high availability production systems
  • Conduct database health checks, performance tuning using OEM, AWR, ASH, ADDM, and optimize SQL/PLSQL and PostgreSQL workloads
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps automation, and cloud migration initiatives involving Oracle and PostgreSQL platforms

Requirements

  • 7+ years professional DBA experience with extensive hands on Oracle Exadata on premises support
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust Security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field
  • Strong experience administering and troubleshooting Oracle 19c multitenant RAC and ASM
  • Proven experience supporting AWS RDS PostgreSQL and AWS RDS Oracle in production environments
  • Expertise with RMAN, Oracle Data Pump, Oracle Backup Design Planning, and database refresh/clone strategies
  • Proficiency with Terraform/CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and AWS cloud ecosystem tools
  • Strong SQL, PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL development skills
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub, Docker) and automation scripting (Shell, Python, Bash)
  • Experience migrating Oracle workloads into AWS or modernizing Oracle/Exadata platforms
  • AWS cloud certification or Oracle DBA certification (OCP, OCM, etc.)
  • Experience with Oracle Spatial, performance tuning across large-scale enterprise systems, or managing 20+ environment footprints
