Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst with 8 to 13 years of experience to join our team in Pune. This is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. This role is crucial for ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our platforms.

Job Responsibility:

Identify, design, and implement innovative technical solutions to maximize application potential and address complex challenges
Develop and maintain robust technical support documentation
Apply advanced Oracle development skills to enhance the stability, efficiency, and effectiveness of Citi applications
Manage, maintain, and support critical production applications and their operating environments
Conduct in-depth analysis of application bottlenecks, performance tuning, effective resource usage, and capacity planning
Implement best practices for system stability and continuous performance improvement
Proactively assess risks, identify, and resolve production issues
Escalate critical incidents to business and technology management
Actively participate in the application release lifecycle, from development, support and testing through to deployment into production
Conduct post-implementation analysis to validate system design and functionality
Review and develop application contingency plans to ensure high availability and business continuity
Partner with production support teams to prioritize development of bug fixes and essential support tooling
Act as a technical liaison between users, internal technology groups, and external vendors to facilitate effective communication and problem resolution
Ensure adherence to essential operational procedures and contribute to defining and evolving operating standards and processes
Demonstrate consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguard Citigroup, its clients, and assets

Requirements:

Proven experience in an Application Development role, with a strong emphasis on developing, supporting, and optimizing large-scale applications
Hands-on experience supporting applications built in Oracle, including advanced SQL, PL/SQL development, and performance tuning within an Oracle environment
Solid experience working with Linux operating systems, including shell scripting (UNIX shell scripting is a significant advantage)
Strong experience in NAV Control products, such as pControl or other similar software
Very strong analytical skills with a proven track record in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues
Experience with issue tracking and problem management tools
Experience with daily performance monitoring, cluster management, and implementing best practices for system stability and performance improvement
Experience with some programming languages and a willingness/ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to effectively share information within technical teams and with relevant stakeholders
Active involvement in and ownership of project development items
Ability to operate with limited direct supervision, exercise independence of judgment, and autonomy
Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
