Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Hands-on experience assisting in the administration of Oracle databases in production or pre-production environments, including basic instance startup/shutdown and routine operational tasks under guidance
Working knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery fundamentals, including RMAN backup execution, restore operations under supervision, and validation of backup success
Familiarity with Oracle preventive maintenance activities, including optimizer statistics gathering, basic health checks, and execution of scheduled maintenance tasks
Ability to perform basic Oracle health diagnostics, including monitoring tablespace usage, identifying storage growth trends, and flagging common availability risks for escalation
Basic exposure to Oracle performance monitoring, including identifying slow SQL, observing wait events at a high level, and monitoring CPU, memory, and I/O utilization
Ability to follow approved runbooks and procedures to support Oracle changes such as patching assistance, parameter updates, and controlled restarts with supervision
Working understanding of ITSM processes using ServiceNow, including logging, updating, and tracking Incident and Request tickets with proper documentation
Experience supporting request fulfillment activities, such as access changes, schema refresh support, and routine operational requests using defined processes
Familiarity with Oracle administration tools, such as Oracle SQL Developer and basic exposure to Oracle Enterprise Manager for daily monitoring activities
Demonstrated ability to escalate issues promptly and accurately to L3 Oracle DBAs with relevant logs, observations, and collected evidence
