Job Description

Oracle Database Architect is responsible to manage, maintain, and optimize our products databases. The DBA will ensure data integrity, security, and availability while supporting business requirements , applications and analytics. This role requires expertise in database design, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in database administration & performance tuning
  • Query Optimization: Analyze and optimize very complex SQL queries for performance improvements
  • Performance Reporting: Generate and interpret AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) reports to identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions
  • Conceptual & Logical Design: Utilize tools such as PowerDesigner for conceptual-level database modeling and ensure alignment with logical/physical design
  • PL/SQL Development: Provide strong expertise in PL/SQL programming for stored procedures, triggers, and packages
  • Scripting Knowledge: Develop and maintain scripts for automation, monitoring, and maintenance tasks (e.g., shell scripting, Python, or similar)
  • Participate in architectural and environment volumetric discussions for new initiatives and business areas based on knowledge gained from benchmarking of the product
  • Production Support: Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in production environments, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies
  • Ensure database security, user access control, and compliance with policies
  • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Communicate progress and issues through regular Status Reports
  • Education: B.E./ B.Tech./ MCA

  • Certification of Oracle will be an added advantage
  • Understanding of Agile, and ideally a background working in a Scrum environment
