Job Description

FinXL IT Professional Services is seeking an Associate Oracle DBA for a long-term engagement with one of our premier financial services clients. This is an incredible opportunity to get hands-on with critical banking systems and cutting-edge database technology. This is a 12-month contract role starting October 1st, offering a hybrid working model (2 days in the office, split between Kogarah and Wynyard) and a salary of up to $85k base + super.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in the day-to-day management, support, and troubleshooting of Oracle databases
  • Support the team with database upgrades and migrations
  • Gain hands-on exposure to maintaining and patching Oracle databases on Exadata
  • Help execute routine change, incident, and problem management tasks
  • Collaborate with the team using agile methodologies and tools like Confluence and Jira
  • Learn and grow your skills in database automation, DevOps, and performance tuning

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of practical experience as a Database Administrator
  • A solid foundational understanding of the Oracle product suite
  • Effective and concise communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A proactive mindset with strong analytical problem-solving skills and a diligent work ethic

Nice to have

  • Basic scripting skills (SQL, PL/SQL, Shell)
