Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, fully qualified and registered Optometrist to join us on a resident basis based out of our Elgin practice at Boots Opticians. Our Practice in Elgin is a freestanding practice with two testing rooms. The practice is supported by a team of 6, including some very talented Clinicians. The practice also boasts nearby parking starting from as little of £1 a day. Elgin is a beautiful, coastal area with close access to Cairngorms National Park. It has great rail links and Inverness airport is only 40 minutes away offering good flight connections nationally and internationally.

Job Responsibility

  • Leading clinics and delivering outstanding patient care
  • Using the latest testing technology to assess eye health and provide expert advice
  • Providing enhanced services, from triage support to advanced assessments, depending on store needs
  • Offering clinical support to colleagues on the shop floor
  • Collaborating with external healthcare professionals
  • Keeping your clinical knowledge up to date and sharing it with others
  • Playing a key role in your store’s leadership team, bringing energy and insight to every shift

Requirements

  • GOC registered (or expecting to be within 6 months)
  • NHS performer number (or working towards it)
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • A genuine interest in patient care and team collaboration

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting enhanced services
  • A strong understanding of local clinical networks
