Job Description:

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring Optometrists for a California state correctional facility in Wasco, California. These positions are 6-month locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose eye conditions
Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments as necessary
Maintain accurate medical records for all patients, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and educating them about eye health
Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies
Participate in succession planning by mentoring junior staff and contributing to training programs
Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to maintain a sterile environment

Requirements:

Active California Physician License
BLS Certification
Board Certified
