Requirements

GOC registered Optometrist
Experience in the pre and post assessments of patients referred for refractive surgery
Knowledge of ophthalmic surgical care provision and knowledge of Ophthalmic disease
Be able to independently prescribe and skills to deliver first appointments on a cataract pathway.
Right to work in the UK

Job Responsibility

Reporting to the Outpatients Manager
Part of a small, forward-looking department with the latest ophthalmic equipment
Deliver an outstanding Cataract Service for patients
Be an integral part of the patient’s cataract pathway, to be able to 1st consultation appointment to list the patients for surgery, as well as to provide follow up and routine appointments for the Consultant led elective ophthalmic services

Requirements

Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the visual system
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to senior care
Proficient in using optometric equipment and technology for examinations
Strong communication skills to effectively explain diagnoses and treatment options to patients
Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining a high level of professionalism
GOC REGISTRATION (required)

Job Responsibility

Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases
Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments as necessary
Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular check-ups
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of examinations and treatments
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care
Stay updated with advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education opportunities
Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for all patients
