Job Description

Altamira Technologies is seeking an experienced Operations System Engineer to join our growing team in Centennial, CO. The selected candidate will play a key role in expanding our program's ability to provide a manned, 24x7, operational awareness and support capability

Job Responsibility

  • Build out a team and operations center to provide a manned 24x7 capability to support multiple programs
  • Develop CONOPs and other documentation critical to implementation of a 24x7 operation center supporting multiple software-based programs
  • Design a watch floor allowing for monitoring of multiple systems that are geographically dispersed and reside on multiple security domains
  • Identify and cost required equipment to support an OPS team, watch floor and monitoring functions
  • Lead staffing requirements, requisitions, candidate interviews, and on-board training
  • Learn existing system capabilities and create standard operating procedures that an OPS team will use to monitor system status, identify issues, and take actions to troubleshoot and potentially resolve problems
  • Determine monitoring criteria and create real-time dashboards to assess system health and current status
  • Identify and document requirements for custom tools or enhancements to support operations
  • Brief internal personnel and external customers on operational status
  • Be self-motivated, a creative problem solver, and able to work in environments with plenty of unknowns

Requirements

  • Current TS/SCI clearance, willing to take CI Poly
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

Nice to have

  • Experience with Kibana or similar observability tool suites (Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus)
  • Experience in scripting languages (BASH, shell, Python)
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps concepts
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with Kubernetes environments
  • Experience reading software log files to include understanding how to read a Java stacktrace
