Job Responsibility:

  • Photograph patients with standard and wide field fundus cameras
  • Photograph patients with a photo slitlamp camera
  • Perform fluorescein angiograms
  • Photographically record patients with a camera to document external pathology
  • Photocopy, on color and black and white films, books, charts, graphs, and typed material for use in lecture slides
  • make duplicate slides
  • Process, mount, and print film from patient photography (fluorescein angiograms, endothelial cells, etc.) and photocopies
  • Sort, label, and file photographs (negatives, positives, slides and prints.)
  • Clean and maintain photographic and related equipment
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Requirements:

  • Four years of photography experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience in performance of ophthalmic photography duties including fundus photography and fluorescein angiography
  • One year of experience in slitlamp photography
  • Knowledge of and adequate experience to perform basic and specialized black and white darkroom procedures
  • Knowledge of and adequate experience to perform routine ophthalmic photocopies
  • Knowledge of and adequate experience to perform sorting, labeling, and filing of ophthalmic photographs
  • Ability to perform the above duties at a professional level of quality and speed and with professional rapport with patients and staff

Nice to have:

  • Experience beyond the minimum required
  • Current certification as a Certified Retinal Angiographer
