Job Description

In accordance with established departmental standards, guidelines, and protocols, assists the medical staff in examining and caring for children with eye problems.

Job Responsibility

  • Assists the medical staff in examining and caring for children with eye problems
  • Performs skilled eye examinations which include, but are not limited to: medical history, age appropriate visual acuity, lensometry, tonometry, orthoptics, and instillation of eye drops
  • Works with clinical staff to insure efficient clinical flow and excellent clinical environments
  • Responsible for daily patient care and flow of clinic activities

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
  • 1 Year of Experience
  • The ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of PC functionality
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Displays consistent professionalism
  • 1 year of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or equivalent, working clinically in the back-office setting

Nice to have

  • Associate's Degree
  • Ophthalmic Assistant Certification (JCAHPO)
  • Previous experience, certification or training on this or similar position is strongly preferred

  • Assist physicians with in-office procedures, adhering to established protocols and within the scope of training
