Job Description:

Baxter seeks an OpEx Digital Transformation Engineer who will lead and sustain digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives at the Round Lake site. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise in advanced automation technologies, program management skills, and a strong ability to collaborate with global teams. This role will involve driving productivity improvements, partnership with regional teams, and serving as a digital transformation advocate to bring value to manufacturing sites.

Job Responsibility:

  • Partner with business, commercial, and IT leaders to drive progress for digital transformation initiatives
  • Build and lead digital transformation at the site
  • Serve as a Digital Transformation evangelist
  • Identify use cases to improve operational metrics
  • Drive benefit realization and partner with manufacturing sites to address gaps
  • Perform infrastructure assessments and create transformation plans with regional teams
  • Manage risks and opportunities during project implementation
  • Plan and execute digital initiatives with minimal guidance
  • Lead engineers and technicians on assigned work
  • Coordinate tasks with contractors and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in leading complex projects in a global manufacturing organization
  • BS in Engineering / Computer Science
  • Solid understanding and demonstrated track record of using open-source programming tools such as Python, OpenCV, Tableau, Node-RED, etc.
  • Exposure to and understanding of computer vision systems and AI Models
  • Advanced robotics technologies such as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automatic guided vehicles (AGVs), and collaborative robots
  • PLC programming and architecture such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, etc.
  • Experience with manufacturing operations, MES, SCADA, Plant Historian, and data acquisition methods
  • Knowledge in concepts of 'Six Sigma' quality techniques
  • Qualification and training in formal and systematic methods of program planning, management, and control
  • Financial understanding of the business value of transformation programs
  • Knowledge of the basic principles in various engineering disciplines
  • Deep knowledge in project management or certification in PMP preferred
  • Ability to run projects, coordinate contractors, and direct the activities of a technician
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member with a proactive attitude
  • Ability to solve equipment problems with minimal to no assistance
  • Understanding of verbal and written safety and quality instructions
  • Display strong knowledge of theories/practices used by other teams outside of primary area of expertise
  • Effectively operate in and facilitate cross-functional teams with guidance
  • Provide solutions that address business objectives and cost implications.

  • Certification in PMP preferred
  • Experience with advanced robotics technologies such as AMRs, AGVs, and collaborative robots
