Job Responsibility:

  • Verify steam sterilization schedules and vessel qualifications
  • Document batch related data on sterilization charts and records. Follow Good Documentation Practices
  • Monitor and record cycle activity
  • Load/unload sterilizer trucks to cooling dock
  • Perform light maintenance duties related to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  • Assist with calculation for mix time changes to successfully complete a mix time change and communicate to filling
  • Ensure department is audit ready at all times
  • Participate in and complete all required training and certifications
  • Assist in Filling and Packing as needed to meet production goals
  • Learn, understand and apply meticulous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required
  • Additional technical training or education a plus
  • Computer proficiency and ability to use software applications
  • Ability to work in unfavorable hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to step up, bend, and stoop
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift above the shoulders up to 20 pounds repetitively
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
  • Basic knowledge of quality and safety procedures and regulations a plus
  • Previous experience in sterilization a plus
  • Ability to read and understand specifications and procedures
  • Able to complete documentation legibly and perform basic math
  • Trained as work saver driver preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Must Be able to work weekends
  • Meet visual acuity requirements as documented in the Baxter Cleveland Visual Acuity procedure CL-01-01-037
  • Audiometric testing and hearing protection required
  • In a Class I Controlled Environment which includes the following dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, jumpsuit, hood, hairnet, beard cover, gloves, isolation mask and boots (additional PPE required when cleaning)
  • Constant or intermittent exposure to extreme levels of noise
  • Involves working around equipment, machinery and belts
  • Requires occasionally working with chemical cleaners and disinfectants
