Job Description:

The inside receiving operator operates and adjusts all inside receiving equipment for smooth and productive operations; monitors product sizing, lineflow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs, and makes line changes as directed by the production lead or team leader.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs
  • Responsible for proper handling of rawproductthroughout the receiving area
  • Inventoriesvolumes of rawproduct
  • Operates equipment andmakes adjustmentsas needed
  • Maintains evenlineflow
  • Monitors andmaintainsproduct quality and attributes
  • Communicates with other personnel: linestatus, quality, and other problems
  • Must understandfunctionand hazards of various cleaningchemicals, andmust be able to perform various product testing procedures
  • Mustbe able to work independently
  • Shoveling product spills
  • Completes production forms asrequired
  • Entersinformation into the computer andutilizesprocess control equipment to control product flow
  • Monitor in-line magnets
  • Maintains water quality by cleaning strainers

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • or one to three months related experience and/or training
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of plant operations and experience working around equipment is desirable
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
  • Ability to write accurate information on simple forms in English
  • Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one-on-one and small group situations with all other employees of the organization in English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
