Prepare and clean surfaces of components to be plated, ensuring they are free from contaminants that could affect the plating process
Dry, inspect, and pack parts for production
Safely handle and dispose of chemicals used in the plating process, adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations
Operate and monitor plating equipment, including electroplating and electroless plating systems, to apply metal coatings to various substrates following established SOP
Ensure quality (GMP) and FDA regulatory performance in the department
Complete DHR and SAP paperwork and maintain accurate records
Maintain accurate records of plating processes, including parameters, batch numbers, and inspection results, in compliance with regulatory requirements
Successfully complete training modules and demonstrate proficiency in assigned duties
Introduce and train on Kanban/material movement processes
Work closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to develop and improve plating processes and resolve any issues that arise during production
Maintain department equipment in working order and ensure cleanliness and adherence to 6S standards
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plating equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations related to chemical handling and waste disposal
Participate in safety training and promote a culture of safety within the plating department
Proactively contributes to zero harm in the workplace for all employees by complying with legal and corporate (EHS) Environmental Health & Safety requirements, safe work practices, and EHS policies and procedures consistently
Report all hazards, near misses and incidents as soon as practicable and participate in identifying actions to prevent harm from occurring to our people and/or our environment
Employees at every level are responsible for quality (GMP) Good Manufacturing Processes and regulatory performance in the department to ensure quality program is met
Ensure compliance with government regulations, legal documents and safety and ethical standards, obtaining legal compliance training
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is typically required
an associate degree in a related field (e.g., manufacturing technology, materials science) is preferred
Previous experience in a plating or manufacturing environment is advantageous
Familiarity with plating techniques and equipment is a plus
SAP trained within first 30 days
Proficiency in operating plating machinery and understanding of chemical processes involved in plating
Strong attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met and to identify any defects in the plating process
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and process discrepancies effectively
Knowledge of safety protocols related to chemical handling and equipment operation
Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and document processes accurately
