The Operations Technology Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of technology systems that support both factory floor and administrative operations. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting in-house hardware, software, network, and communication systems. The Specialist partners closely with factory leadership, engineers, and corporate IT teams to implement and sustain technology solutions that enable safe, efficient, and data-driven manufacturing and distribution operations.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of manufacturing and production processes and how they integrate with underlying IT and OT systems
Ensure the reliability, stability, and continuous improvement of factory floor technology solutions in support of manufacturing and distribution goals
Install, configure, tune, administer, and troubleshoot in-house computer hardware, software, databases, networks, communication, and multimedia systems
Support factory compliance with corporate standards related to data backup, disaster recovery, software licensing, security, authorization, and regulatory requirements
Provide technical support for factory hardware, factory floor data collection systems, and business information systems
Partner with factory personnel at all levels to provide guidance, support, and direction for resolving IT/OT-related requests and issues
Coordinate and communicate with key stakeholders to manage and resolve IT solution issues or outages that impact production operations
Analyze, develop, document, and maintain in-house information and data collection systems
Provide demand-based, off-hours technical support in alignment with factory operational requirements
Collaborate with the Factory Leadership Team and local engineering partners to plan and implement new or enhanced factory software solutions
Continuously develop and maintain technical skill sets aligned with plant systems, emerging technologies, and best practices
Utilize and actively promote Agile ways of working to improve service delivery and solution outcomes
Requirements:
High school diploma required
Associate (2-year) technical degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Technology, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge in three (3) or more of the following areas: Personal computer systems and peripherals
Local Area Network (LAN) operations, including Cisco IOS, switches, cabling, routers, and access points
Windows operating systems (servers and PCs)
Business and office technology platforms, including Microsoft Office 365
Database design and query concepts
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), SCADA, and/or PLCs
Infrastructure automation, PowerShell scripting, and cloud computing technologies
