The ELYSIS process eliminates the use of carbon anodes, replacing those with proprietary materials. It is the first industrial process that emits oxygen as its by-product and has the potential to transform an entire industry. As the Operations Technician at Alcoa Technical Center (ATC), you will be responsible for manufacturing special components, while keeping safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Job Responsibility:
Perform operational tasks to meet project requirements, including forming, furnace and kiln loading/unloading, and maintain process equipment
Inspect production parts for quality, including density and dimensional measurements, and other checks
Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other mobile equipment as needed
Disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot equipment
Follow safety protocols and support Alcoa’s EHS standards, tools, and procedures with a strong safety mindset
Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or trade school — preferably in mechanical or electrical trades, but other fields are welcome (such as vehicle repair, HVAC, carpentry, metal work, millwork etc.)
Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Able to handle materials, weigh items, follow process steps in order, and record process data
Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Able to lift up to 65 lbs. from waist level when needed
Must have a valid driver’s license
