We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Team Lead who will be responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our new Distribution Centre, ensuring that all site activities support the accurate handling, storage, and movement of products within a regulated environment. This role plays a vital part in maintaining operational integrity, upholding industry and regulatory standards, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through the supply chain to meet business and customer needs. Working closely with the wider operations and pharmacy leadership teams, the Operations Team Lead will coordinate day-to-day site performance, implement process improvements, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee daily site operations, ensuring all tasks are performed in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Manage the compliant receipt, storage, pick, pack and distribution of products within our internal network and to end consumers
Coordinate the flow of goods from inbound to storage and from storage to dispatch, ensuring minimal delays and errors
Ensure that warehouse space is utilized efficiently, optimizing storage and product availability
Support the Operations Manager with implementing operational plans, workflow improvements, and performance initiatives
Consistently ensure all warehouse operations comply with standard operating procedures including Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) where necessary
Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
Conduct regular safety audits and provide training to warehouse staff on effective safety protocols
Oversee inventory management, including regular stock audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate records
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation and reporting in collaboration with Procurement, Finance and Quality
Continuously assess and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction (internal and external)
Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse performance & productivity, inventory management, order fulfilment rates and any operational challenges
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed
Lead and coordinate the warehouse team on the floor during own shift, ensuring daily tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to required standards
Monitor team productivity and performance to maintain targets
Oversee return-to-work processes, including conducting return-to-work interviews and ensuring staff are reintegrated smoothly and safely
Maintain accurate reporting on shift performance, staffing issues, and operational challenges, escalating concerns to the Site Operations Manager when required
Requirements:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in a pharmaceutical or regulated industry
Demonstrated ability to provide on-the-floor leadership support, guiding team members and assisting with daily operational coordination
Proven experience in managing inventory systems, ERP software, and warehouse management systems (WMS)
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance
Forklift certification and experience is a plus
