We are seeking a talented Operations Support Manager to lead the P-8A Poseidon Operations Team. This role will be reporting to the P-8A Program Director, as part of the Senior Leadership Team. The Operations team provide a range of operational and technical services to support the readiness of the fleet and crews that operate the P-8A capability. The Operations Team supports services provided through Maintenance and Aircrew Training, Operational Support & Field Services, Ground Support Segments including - Synthetic Training Devices, Test Laboratories, Tool Stores, Warehousing. This role is based in RAAF Base Edinburgh, SA.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and collaborate with geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary teams to plan and execute complex deliverables for the customer
Manage the P-8A Operations portfolio, including Training Services, Cyber Services, Maintenance Training, Field Services, and Ground Support segments (Maintenance/Modification and Help Desk)
Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks and issues
pursue opportunities to improve outcomes and escalate promptly when additional support is required
Conduct regular review meetings with senior stakeholders to report progress, align on priorities, and establish strategic goals
Provide timely, detailed reporting on P-A8 Operational Team performance and program status directly to the P-8A Program Director and other stakeholders
Proactively engage with P-8 project stakeholders, including SRSPO and SRG customers, to ensure delivery of agreed results and sustained customer satisfaction
Requirements:
Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed teams in complex defense or aerospace programs
Strong stakeholder management, risk management, and communication skills
Familiarity with P-8A operations, training, sustainment, or similar military aviation platforms is highly desirable
Extensive experience in managing complex projects to successful completion
Formal Project Management, Engineering, Business or Management Tertiary qualifications are desired, however, a high-level prior experience will be considered
Experience leading or working within a program of works / Project Management Office
Experience preparing and submitting contracted deliverables using the Australian Defence Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON)
Demonstrated proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted industry project management standards
Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to exert influence at multiple organisational levels
High level communication and negotiation skills with a strong focus on building successful relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen and hold, or have ability to obtain, an Australian Defence security clearance
