In Supply Chain Operations we lead, plan, and execute the supply of IKEA products between suppliers and retailers. We do this by 1) leading tactical and operational planning; 2) securing optimal replenishment; 3) sourcing and developing transport and logistics capacities; and 4) managing and execution of goods flow.
Job Responsibility:
Secure steering and monitoring of the operational performance of the external service provider (ESP) ensuring the local unit has proper capability in place for inbound and goods movement, outbound and order execution, yard management, inventory management, good movements optimization, value added services needed for customer delivery, product, and supply quality deviations
Follow up the activities of the ESP in the unit to fulfil defined objectives and goals for the operations, keeping always in focus the needs of the customer and of the impact on the total supply chain
Maintain good and efficient co-operation between IKEA and the logistics External Service Provider and all other relevant stakeholders (Retailer, Customs, etc.) in the operational related fields
Responsible for goal setting within Operations Support team, initiating local business plans/projects implementation, and commitment to achieve excellence in operations
Responsible for leading, coaching and developing a high-performing Operational Support Team
Responsible to secure availability and functionality of needed warehouse and order management systems in the unit
Secures proper warehousing unit set-up planning
Responsible for range management and warehouse capacity assessment by pallet types, logistics set up maintenance related tasks
Handling and validate no-pick requests
Maintain and communicate the standardized Exception List on picking
Support/drive the local peak planning process according to local constraints and in alignment with the MSI (Manage Supply Imbalance) planning group
Coordinate on the decided global scrapping of goods
Take part in the contract negotiation with the ESP for all the matters related to operations
Responsible to develop the logistical competence in the Distribution Centre
Responsible to implement and follow Inter IKEA’s Warehousing Concept
Be an active member of the Local Market Operations Forum by representing Category Area Logistics Services and updating stakeholders with all relevant information about the situation in the unit
Requirements:
University degree (preferable in Logistics/Transport or Supply Chain management) or equivalent in working experience
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Minimum five working experience in warehouse operations, including in a leading role
Experience of leading projects and changes
Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English
Self-reliant and motivated with a proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
Project and change management experience
Experience of in working in a multi-cultural work environment
Experience of working with implementation and management of warehousing and order management system
