Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced, commercially astute Operations Support Manager to work in partnership with the Operations Manager, supporting service delivery across our education catering sites and ensuring an excellent experience for our school customers. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive operational excellence, and support our teams in delivering fresh, nutritious, and high-quality food experiences to schools and communities.

Job Responsibility

  • Work in partnership with the Operations Manager, supporting service delivery across education catering sites

  • Support teams in delivering fresh, nutritious, and high-quality food experiences to schools and communities
  • Travelling to different schools weekly and occasionally daily
  • Covering the Chef Manager on occasions

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role and a proven track record of continually improving standards
  • Good communication skills at all levels
  • Passionate about food, drive quality and ensure innovation
  • Proven track record of leading and motivating a team
  • Ability to support all Health & Safety and Food Safety tasks
  • Financial and budget awareness with good understanding of GP calculation
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Craft-based cooking skills
  • Full driving license enabling you to drive in the UK

  • Collaborate with external vendors, internal teams, and clients to meet urgent needs, ensuring seamless communication and effective problem-solving during high-pressure scenarios
  • Coordinate and manage logistics, ensuring efficient scheduling of resources and critical supplies
  • Respond to client requests on short notice, often with minimal preparation time, to ensure the continuity of operations
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures and contract compliance
  • Evaluate and identify training needs, address gaps, and implement training programs
  • Communicate with clients regarding billing and accounts receivables/collections
  • Review, submit, and correct subcontractor invoices to Accounts Payable
  • Oversee job scheduling in WinTeam, maintain payroll accuracy and track subcontractor pay
  • Travel up to 25% of the time
