Job Responsibility:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of a team of 3–5 staff
Oversee operation of specialised processing equipment, ensuring optimal efficiency and minimal downtime
Ensure all site operations meet environmental, safety, and compliance standards
Enforce workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures
Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks
Ensure proper use of PPE and safe operation of machinery
Maintain compliance with local regulations relating to resource management and environmental services
Plan and manage transport schedules for material movement and logistics
Liaise with transport providers, drivers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely collections and deliveries
Optimise routing and scheduling to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Maintain accurate transport and dispatch records
Lead, train, and support staff to ensure high performance and adherence to procedures
Allocate tasks and monitor productivity
Address performance issues and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
Foster a positive and safety-focused team culture
Monitor condition and performance of processing equipment
Coordinate routine maintenance and report faults promptly
Ensure site cleanliness, organisation, and operational readiness at all times
Maintain accurate records of material volumes, transport logs, and compliance documentation
Prepare reports for management on operations, incidents, and performance metrics
Assist with audits and inspections as required
Requirements:
Proven experience in a supervisory role within resource recovery, recycling, logistics, or a similar industrial environment
Experience operating or overseeing cardboard balers or similar machinery
Knowledge of specialised or regulated material handling requirements
Strong transport scheduling and logistics coordination experience
Demonstrated leadership skills managing small teams
Solid understanding of WHS and environmental regulations
