The Operations Supervisor coordinates their team's activities and monitors that all operational work and tasks for their team are completed in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Oversees and provides hands-on guidance, direction and training to their crew as required. The Operations Supervisor has primary responsibility for training and assisting their team members in interpretation of procedures and production status. The Operations Supervisor must be able to be technically proficient in all areas of the plant. As Operations Supervisor, the incumbent must be able to plan and organize workloads and resource requirements and manage their area of responsibility so all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved. As incumbent works 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, is responsible for all plant site activities as the senior Company representative on site during non-business hours (i.e. evenings, nights, and weekends). Serves as an advisor to the Operations Manager and other technical support groups. As senior leader on Emergency Response Team (ERT), the Production Supervisor (Thermal) mentors and guides newer team members.

Requirements:
Minimum of Technical School or College Diploma in related field or combination of demonstrated process experience, aptitude, and specific skills training
Minimum of 5 years' related industrial process-plant experience
Preference for 6 to 8 years' related experience
Knowledge of hazardous waste treatment industry is required
Prior supervisory experience is a definite asset
Minimum of Alberta Boilers Safety Association (ABSA) 4th Class Power Engineering Certification is required
In-house training on the quality systems, quality regulations, and safe work practices (including WHMIS Standard First Aid, T.D.G., Inventory Management, Environmental Awareness, PPE, Fire Extinguisher Training, Work Permit System, Waste Storage Guidelines)
In-house training on corporate policies

Must obtain 100% on Facility Environmental Operating License Exam
Familiar with all aspects of the various processing centers within the SHTC in a Senior Process position
Good understanding of hazardous waste
Basic knowledge of accounting procedures
Knowledgeable of TDG, Waste Storage Guidelines, and Regulatory Policies
Strong customer service attitude and commitment to providing exceptional customer service and quality results
Sound business acumen and ability to manage all facets of the Work Unit
Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills to facilitate working effectively with wide range and number of people, including peers and manager, employees, and other departments, divisions, and management within all levels of the organization
Effective leadership and communication (both verbal and written) skills to facilitate and promote open discussions, and to effect pro-active management on a daily basis

Ability to work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts as the facility is operational 24/7

Ability to complete all conditions of employment including criminal record check, negative alcohol and drug test, current and clean Class 5 driver's license, pre-employment medical, and background check
