Job Description

As Operations Superintendent, you'll take charge of our cane crushing and sugar recovery operations—making sure everything runs smoothly, efficiently, and in line with annual factory output targets. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll monitor performance, implement improvements, and help drive the mill towards its operational goals. Located in North Queensland, Sarina offers a laid-back lifestyle, with stunning beaches and exciting outdoor adventures right at your doorstep.

Job Responsibility

  • Run Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee mill operations to ensure all processes run efficiently. Analyse performance data, report on productivity, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead Process Improvements: Pinpoint areas for operational enhancements and roll out strategic initiatives to reduce waste and lift efficiency
  • Support and Guide Shift Teams: Coordinate shift operations, ensuring teams are skilled, engaged, and working to safety and operational standards
  • Deliver on the Plan: Contribute to operational planning and provide clear leadership to keep teams aligned with site goals and continuous improvement
  • Tackle Problems at the Source: Get to the root of production issues and implement lasting solutions that improve reliability and performance
  • Work Across Teams to Lift Equipment Performance: Partner with engineering and maintenance teams to overcome technical challenges and get the most out of your plant

Requirements

  • Strong engineering background or substantial experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety legislation
