Job Description:

In this long-term contract role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance within a banking environment. This position requires a strong understanding of banking operations, accounting principles, and regulatory standards to support seamless reconciliation processes and audits.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of general ledger and bank statement accounts, including activities related to Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS)
  • Prepare and post accurate journal entries to support financial reporting processes
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations to ensure data integrity
  • Collaborate with Operations and Accounting teams to ensure proper and timely transaction bookings
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and respond to audit and examiner requests with precision
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and insights
  • Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and banking regulations
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential risks, contributing to critical decision-making
  • Utilize advanced spreadsheet tools to streamline reconciliation and reporting tasks
  • Ensure adherence to high standards and regulatory expectations, including PCAOB guidelines

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in banking or financial services roles
  • Proficiency in banking operations, consumer lending, and accounting practices
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance standards, including SOX and PCAOB
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheet applications and data analysis
  • Familiarity with audit processes and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to liaise across departments
