Job Description:

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Commercial team sits at the centre of Deliveroo’s marketplace shaping how we serve restaurants, grocers, and new verticals worldwide. From negotiating key partnerships to unlocking new revenue streams and crafting data-led growth strategies, we take on big challenges that move the business forward. If you thrive in fast-paced, commercial environments and want to influence the future of a global brand—this is the team for you. We’re looking for an Operations Specialist to join our Dubai team. In this leadership role, you’ll act as the operational lead for a cluster of grocery and retail sites, driving performance and managing a team of field associates to deliver exceptional results across the UAE.

Job Responsibility:

  • Cluster & Team Leadership: Oversee multiple grocery sites, mentoring a team of associates and senior associates. You’ll conduct performance reviews and build team capability through structured field coaching.
  • Performance Optimisation: Analyse key KPIs like B10s (picking time), picking accuracy, and rejection rates. You'll identify performance gaps and implement data-driven action plans to bring sites back on track.
  • Operational Audits: Conduct regular store walkthroughs to ensure strict adherence to our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for partner management teams, collaborating cross-functionally with Supply Chain and Central Ops to resolve escalations.
  • Strategic Reporting: Consolidate cluster-level insights for Weekly and Monthly Business Reviews (WBR/MBR), presenting performance data and strategic recommendations to Regional Managers.

Requirements:

  • Multi-Site Leadership: Significant experience (3–4 years) in grocery, retail, or last-mile operations, with a proven track record of managing teams and multiple locations.
  • Analytical Rigour: Strong understanding of grocery metrics (B10s, IUNS, rejections) and the ability to interpret complex dashboards to drive operational changes.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with both on-ground store staff and senior central leadership.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using mobile/tablet applications and operational reporting tools to track live performance.
  • Mobility: A valid UAE driving licence and access to your own transport are essential for this field-based leadership role.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in scaling new store launches or "dark store" operations in the Middle East.
  • Project management experience in a high-growth tech or e-commerce environment.
What we offer:
  • A competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package
  • Support with your visa and work permit process
  • Paternity and maternity benefits
  • Excellent learning and development opportunities and access to RooLearn
  • Regular social events
  • Comprehensive medical insurance (for employees, one dependent spouse and two dependent children)
  • Access to Headspace, a meditation and wellbeing app
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Plan
  • Life Insurance
  • 25 days annual leave
  • One day of paid leave per year to volunteer with a registered charity
  • Flight ticket allowance for expatriate employees
  • Free Deliveroo Plus: free delivery and access to special offers
  • Breakfast, snacks and drinks available in our office
  • Twice monthly lunch allowance
  • Some roles may be eligible for share awards
  • Depending on role and location, some employees may be eligible for an annual cash bonus, sign-on bonus or relocation support
