MS Car Center is currently searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Operations Specialist for our Cardiology department. This position is responsible for the overall supervision of the vein clinic operations. Ensures that patients receive excellent customer service. The Operations Specialist is an exemplary model, for both staff and patients; for professionalism, respect, customer service and compassion.

Job Responsibility

  • Manages the Vein clinic by coordinating schedules, ensuring that leg/vein patients are roomed in a timely manner, and any concerns are resolved professionally and in accordance with IMS policy and procedure
  • Prepares patient for exam and procedures by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and images, sterile prep and other necessary measurements
  • documents in electronic medical record (EMR) accurately and efficiently
  • Assists providers with exams and minor in office procedures
  • Performs a variety of office-based duties related to patient care under the supervision of a clinician, including but not limited to coordinating scheduling, obtaining Authorizations, ordering/inventory of supplies, clean and maintain procedure rooms, obtain images, obtain consent forms, prep for procedure (patient and exam room, pre and post instructions, and other procedures as needed)
  • May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed
  • Uses universal sterile techniques and personal protective equipment as needed at all times to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Responsible for communicating test results, patient instruction regarding pre and post care to patient
  • Acts as a resource to clinical and non-clinical staff in order to provide optimal patient care
  • Provides clerical support with patient/client notification and documentation, to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit
  • Schedules follow up appointments with patients
  • Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas
  • Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures
  • Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances
  • Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs
  • Orders supplies and stocks patient care areas and monitors inventory including medication and injectables, i.e., expired medications/equipment, recalls and patient tracking

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited college or university required
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments and knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR and scheduling software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites or related software
  • Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact with people from different background and cultures
  • Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion
  • Mush have knowledge of and always follow HIPA guidelines and secure Protected Health Information
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
