As a Planner Operations AOG, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our fleet moving. You’ll optimise spares support to minimise aircraft delays and deferred defects, ensuring we meet service level agreements while maximising cost efficiency across the Virgin Atlantic fleet. This is a fast-paced, operational role providing 24/7, 365-day materials support worldwide, helping recover AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations quickly and effectively.
Job Responsibility:
Providing round-the-clock materials operational support for the Virgin Atlantic fleet worldwide
Initiating and managing AOG recovery procedures, ensuring minimal disruption in the most cost-effective way
Coordinating and authorising loan, sale, borrow, and exchange of spares with other operators
Ensuring compliance with HMRC and local customs regulations for international spares movements
Reviewing post-AOG events to improve inventory levels and prevent recurrence
Supporting third-party maintenance activities, particularly outside standard hours
Monitoring and authorising spares replenishment and procurement
Managing inventory to avoid overstocking or stock shortages, ensuring optimal efficiency
Ensuring sufficient global spares coverage to meet operational and service level requirements
Identifying and managing surplus or redundant stock, including disposal strategies
Analysing inventory trends, supply chain performance, and consumption patterns
Producing reports and recommendations for continuous improvement
Supporting enhancements to inventory systems and automation
Managing spares provisioning for fleet and onboard projects
Reviewing modifications, maintenance tasks, and special checks to ensure material readiness
Reporting on fill rates and stock turn performance against agreed targets
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of supply sources and materials logistics
Excellent negotiation and organisational skills
The ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team
Good working knowledge of: CAA regulations and publications
Supplier procedures and Spec 2000
Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC) and technical drawings (preferred)
A proactive mindset with the ability to analyse data and drive improvements
