Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Operations Officer II to join our Wealth Operations team in Ottawa. This is a 100% back-office role focused on the accurate processing of various Retirement Income Fund (RIF) requests, including manual requests, account application updates, and complex calculations. This is a 6-month contract with a strong possibility of extension or permanent conversion based on performance and business needs. It is an excellent opportunity for professionals or recent graduates to gain experience within a premier financial institution.

Job Responsibility:

  • Accurate Execution: Perform general to specialized transactions, including RIF basic manual requests and NAAF update requests, ensuring compliance with established procedures
  • Calculations: Conduct precise LIF maximum amount calculations and other financial data adjustments
  • SLA Adherence: Prioritize and manage your workload to meet productivity and quality targets within defined Service Level Agreements
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and escalate processing or operational issues based on a solid understanding of the underlying cause, connecting with partners to facilitate resolution
  • Stakeholder Support: Support internal partners with incoming transactions, validating information, and performing adjustments within your authority levels
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and support the implementation of process improvement initiatives
  • Documentation: Ensure all data entry and documentation are accurate and reflect current regulatory and internal guidelines

Requirements:

  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in MS Excel with the ability to confidently run and manage EUCs (Excel-based macros)
  • Experience: 2–4 years of professional experience in an operations or administrative role
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry
  • Adaptability: A quick learner who takes initiative and can adapt to changing workloads and procedures
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional team-player attitude and strong time-management skills
  • Education: A University degree is preferred

  • Prior experience within a banking or financial institution
