Job Description

Following the award of a significant new contract across the Humber region, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at an exciting time of growth and transformation. The new contract covers 3 different NHS Trusts in North Lincolnshire and Goole (NLAG), York & Scarborough (Y&S), and Hull University Teaching Hospitals (HUTH). This is a unique opportunity for a strong people leader, ideally with a healthcare background, to bring together multidisciplinary teams and lead the integration of clinical, manufacturing and NHS administrative functions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping a high-performing, collaborative environment that consistently delivers safe, effective, and patient-centred services to NHS patients and clinicians, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the region.

Job Responsibility

  • To develop, manage & oversee the running of the Opcare centres to ensure the service achieves strategic goals, KPIs and operates within financial budgets & targets
  • Deliver a service which scores high on customer satisfactory surveys and delivers excellence in patient outcomes
  • Develop and maintain a workforce plan which ensures that the business has the right levels of flexible, multi-skilled and experienced staff to meet the business requirements at present and for the foreseeable future looking at succession plans and the capacity for growth
  • Attend and lead customer review meetings and ensure that all customers reporting requirements are met
  • Evaluate service performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics and utilise this data to identify areas for improvement and implement these improvements

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a customer facing, management role
  • Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • History of building and maintaining excellent working relationships both internally and externally

Nice to have

  • Previous experience of in working in an environment regulated by the CQC and its requirements
  • Experience of orthotics and/or prosthetics
  • A qualification in Business or Leadership & Management

  • Take ownership of survey operations across multiple concurrent projects
  • Plan and manage resource allocation (staff, subcontractors and equipment) with short- and medium-term forecasting (2–4 weeks ahead)
  • Coordinate closely with the Digital Delivery team (CAD/BIM/processing) to ensure smooth handover from site to final deliverables
  • Act as a key client interface, ensuring clear communication, programme alignment and high service quality
  • Ensure efficient mobilisation of site teams, including RAMS, logistics and compliance
  • Drive on-time, on-budget delivery, working closely with the Head of Department, Finance and Sales
  • Support and enforce QA processes, ensuring data meets agreed specifications, tolerances and client standards
  • Enable operational teams to perform efficiently through clear planning, communication and problem solving
  • Support continuous improvement of processes, particularly around planning, QA and delivery workflows
  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and development of survey staff
