Job Description

Operations Manager - Haydock Park Racecourse - The Jockey Club Experiences | Full-Time / Permanent. £35000 + excellent benefits. Main objective is to ensure the smooth delivery of the day-to-day and race day hospitality operations within unit to our clients and customers whilst managing the business needs and performance standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure smooth delivery of day-to-day and race day hospitality operations
  • Manage and control staff levels while meeting budgetary requirements
  • Recruit, manage, train, motivate and appraise staff
  • Manage and maintain Conference/Hospitality areas and equipment
  • Assist in achieving financial targets and preparation of business forecasts
  • Comply with company and client policies, procedures and statutory regulations
  • Support Deputy General Manager and General Manager in induction, training and development
  • Lead set up on prep days
  • Direct liaison with client, customer and sales team
  • Deal with customer comments positively and take follow-up action
  • Maximize sales opportunities and upselling
  • Support implementation and monitoring of marketing initiatives
  • Control operating costs and ensure stock takes

Requirements

  • Successful background in Food Service/Contract Catering/Hospitality/Retail Catering
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment managing a team
  • Experience supporting catering, hospitality and events
  • Flexible attitude towards hours and working tasks
  • Excellent management and communication skills
  • Good understanding of financial management
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Passion for food and customer service
  • Financially and commercially astute
