We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at our remote lodge inside Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve. This role ensures the smooth and efficient functioning of the lodge by providing leadership for multiple guest service departments, including the front desk, courtesy transportation, housekeeping leadership oversight, and the guided boat tour operation.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise and support front desk services
Oversee guest reservations, availability updates, and billing accuracy
Assist staff with guest inquiries, resolutions, and special requests
Provide coaching and training to front desk employees
Provide leadership and operational guidance to the Housekeeping Manager
Ensure housekeeping operations align with company standards and safety regulations
Oversee guest transportation services
Support scheduling and management of vehicles
Oversee the lodge’s guided boat tour program, working closely with the Boat Captain
Support the coordination of daily boat tour schedules, staffing, and guest capacity planning
Ensure guest safety, satisfaction, and compliance with regulations
Train, schedule, and support departmental supervisors and staff
Foster a positive and inclusive work culture
Conduct performance reviews
Monitor daily operations for efficiency and adherence to service standards
Assist with department budgets, expense monitoring, and cost-control processes
Track operational KPIs
Ensure adherence to all safety protocols across guest service areas, transportation operations, and boat tour activities
Coordinate with maintenance staff
Maintain compliance with National Park Service requirements, USCG regulations, and company health & safety standards
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of hospitality or operations management experience
Experience in remote or seasonal environments strongly preferred
Marine or tour oversight experience a plus
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Capacity to manage multiple departments simultaneously
Familiarity with property management systems, guest services, transportation logistics, and/or tour operations
Adaptable, detail-oriented, guest-focused
Capable of thriving in a remote location with variable conditions
Nice to have:
Marine or tour oversight experience
