Lead a critical operation, build a high performing team and set the standard for safety and performance. We are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader to take ownership of our solvent based paint manufacturing facility in Darwen. This is a high impact role where you will guide people, drive performance and build a safe, consistent and continuously improving operation. You will play a key role in how the site performs day to day while helping shape how we work in the future.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and develop a team including a Shift Manager, Shift Leaders, Quality Control Technician and operators
Create a culture where safety is prioritised and standards are consistently applied
Drive performance across key measures including Right First Time, service levels and plan adherence
Use data and Lean principles to find opportunities and improve performance
Ensure production plans are delivered on time and in full
Maintain high standards of product quality and plant hygiene
Manage operational budgets and support delivery of cost targets
Build strong cross functional relationships across Engineering, Supply Chain, QA and site leadership
Contribute to the delivery of site and business strategy
Requirements:
Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of health and safety within a higher risk manufacturing setting
Experience driving performance improvements using Lean or continuous improvement methods
Experience working with KPIs and operational data
Strong communication and stakeholder skills
A proactive approach and the confidence to challenge ways of working
Degree level education in a relevant field is preferred
