We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager within our Digital Engineering Department. This is a key leadership role supporting a fast-growing, multi-disciplinary team delivering projects across infrastructure, aviation, mission-critical and property sectors. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Department and work closely with Digital Delivery, Sales and wider Operations teams. The role is primarily remote, with regular collaboration across the UK team and occasional presence in the Watford office and on-site as required.
Job Responsibility:
Take ownership of survey operations across multiple concurrent projects
Plan and manage resource allocation (staff, subcontractors and equipment) with short- and medium-term forecasting (2–4 weeks ahead)
Coordinate closely with the Digital Delivery team (CAD/BIM/processing) to ensure smooth handover from site to final deliverables
Act as a key client interface, ensuring clear communication, programme alignment and high service quality
Ensure efficient mobilisation of site teams, including RAMS, logistics and compliance
Drive on-time, on-budget delivery, working closely with the Head of Department, Finance and Sales
Support and enforce QA processes, ensuring data meets agreed specifications, tolerances and client standards
Enable operational teams to perform efficiently through clear planning, communication and problem solving
Support continuous improvement of processes, particularly around planning, QA and delivery workflows
Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and development of survey staff
Line manage and mentor team members where required
Undertake site/survey activities where needed to support delivery
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent in Surveying, Geospatial, or related discipline
Proven experience in a senior operational or project management role within surveying or geospatial
Strong understanding of survey workflows, including data capture, point clouds and downstream deliverables (CAD/BIM)
Experience managing multiple projects and teams in parallel
Familiarity with client environments and standards (e.g. infrastructure, aviation, or mission-critical)
Experience with resource planning and subcontractor management
Willingness to travel across the UK when required
