Job Description

The Vertical Ops team's mission is to power ACAC Territories by partnering with teams to ideate and execute scalable solutions to strategic priorities. As an Operations Associate in this role, you will lead our efforts to continue making Uber the safest platform in the Andean, Central American and the Caribbean regions. In this role, you will serve as the regional safety expert, driving impact through: analyzing incident rates and delivering actionable insights to Central and Local Operations; identifying and implementing best practices; designing scalable solutions to improve safety in our territories; building compelling business cases for safety initiatives; and partnering with Central Ops and other cross-functional teams on feature launches and related safety initiatives.

Job Responsibility

  • Safety Initiative Assessment & Implementation: Evaluate new initiatives from the Regional Safety Team, address questions, and provide recommendations to GMs and cross-functional teams for approval. Post-launch, monitor performance and communicate findings to local teams
  • Safety Feature Improvements/Rollouts: Lead the rollout and enhancement of safety features across ACAC countries. Advocate for safety and compliance products/processes regionally, while managing and owning our safety controls
  • Safety Data Analysis & Risk Mitigation: Leverage regional incident data to analyze trends and perform deep dives to identify safety improvement opportunities and generate actionable insights. Partner with the Safety Operations team to design and implement processes that address identified gaps and mitigate emerging safety-related risk patterns
  • Safety Perception Monitoring & improvement: Measure safety perception for riders and drivers through quarterly surveys to share insights, identify opportunities, and develop improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Safety Operations team
  • Incident Investigation & Support: Monitor social media and external sources to identify safety cases, escalate them to Incident Response teams, and ensure visibility across relevant stakeholders. Provide support in serious incidents by performing initial investigations, sharing insights that support subsequent actions, and offering recommendations based on findings
  • New cities/product launches support: Support local teams when launching a new country, city, or product by enabling safety features, configuring safety-related settings, and providing safety recommendations
  • Project Management & Execution: Plan and organize complex, multi-faceted projects with cross-functional teams. You will define clear timelines, deliverables, and resource allocations to operationalize processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Stand for Safety: Be a driving force in transforming Uber's internal safety culture, helping to ensure we put safety at the heart of all that we do

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in operations, strategy, consulting, or a high-growth environment
  • Data-driven mindset with experience getting "in the weeds" of data analysis to drive big-picture strategic decisions
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and presenting data to various audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet succinct manner
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
