This position will oversee all aspects of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost Control for the Downstream Service Operations in a highly dynamic, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee all aspects of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost Control for the Downstream Service Operations in a highly dynamic, 24/7 manufacturing environment
Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to reduce overall material cycle time through the plant.
Optimize plant flow, coil packaging, and coil movements to maximize productivity and ensure efficient shipping performance.
Direct and implement mission-critical maintenance activities to increase equipment reliability and reduce quality costs.
Supervise, coach, and provide technical guidance to hourly personnel, ensuring adherence to safety standards, product quality, and operational excellence.
Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and equipment utilization to meet on-time delivery and inventory requirements.
Collaborate effectively with internal and external support teams to coordinate mill activities and ensure seamless operations.
Develop and implement cross-training programs to strengthen workforce flexibility, provide redundancy, and mitigate risks from unplanned vacancies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or Related Field OR
4 years of direct or indirect leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to learn and understand the intricacies of a high value coil finishing facility
Demonstrate the ability to manage priorities & work schedule to consistently meet deadlines.
Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and manage a diverse and represented hourly workforce
Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across different functions and levels within the organization
Exceptional organization and planning skills in order to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software - Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc. and the ability to adapt to company specific systems
Nice to have:
Bachelor's degree in technical or engineering field
Lean Six Sigma Certification
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience applying continuous improvement and optimization techniques in a manufacturing setting
Proficiency in data analytics and performance metric tracking
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
