Job Description

Involves support in the reception of products and fulfillment of customer orders through operational processes, to ensure that customer material is in optimal condition at the required time.

Job Responsibility

  • Provides efficient and safe delivery and pickup of packages
  • Checks packages to ensure proper labeling, legality of content, proper wrapping, insurance values, and special requirements for hazardous material shipments
  • Provides necessary paperwork relating to the pickup and delivery of packages
  • Seeks additional business from current customers
  • Informs Station Ops. Manager and Sales of changes in customer/competitor efforts
  • Loads company vehicles in a safe manner
  • Audits size and weight of packages and boxes and sorts
  • Ensures the use of safety equipment and full compliance with FedEx safety policies
  • Operates company vehicles in a safe and secure manner and performs basic maintenance
  • Supports in the unloading of customer merchandise, separating and physically validating, and palletizing the product
  • Arranges the product on the racks with the help of the Skid or Forklift
  • May fulfill physical orders through work tools such as handheld, scanner and PC
  • Performs value-added work such as product review, kit assembly, labeling, packaging

Requirements

  • Middle School degree/Equivalent preferred
  • Basic English Skills
  • General knowledge of warehouse, packaging, inventories
  • Experience operating ramp and warehouse equipment preferred
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs. (25 kg) and to maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs. (68 kgs) with appropriate equipment
  • Must be able to work variable shifts
  • General vehicle maintenance a plus and power and hand tools experience preferred
  • Must be able to successfully complete Reading, Map Reading, Sorting, and Math sections of the Basic Skills Test
