This is a 4 or 8-month internship based out of our Hellmanns factory in Rexdale, Ontario. The purpose of the Intern Program is to introduce you to Unilever through a challenging and rewarding experience, which offers you the opportunity to lead a project and build your knowledge. During your 4 or 8-month internship, you will develop your leadership style and strengthen your analytical skills.
Job Responsibility:
Work with Operations and Continuous Improvement teams to create machine autonomous maintenance standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Create and maintain technical training materials and documentation for factory processes
Provide support to the Logistics team through various transactional and operational activities
Support waste elimination and factory loss reduction using Lean and continuous improvement methodologies
Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data to support root cause analysis and problem solving
Develop troubleshooting capabilities on process and packaging equipment, and use engineering skills to map and understand processes
Create and establish technical standards and standardized work to ensure process stability and sustained performance
Have an active role in employee relations programs in your factory and drive positive employee relations through various reward and recognition programs
Requirements:
3rd or 4th year Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Student
Can Work with minimal supervision and an initiator
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
Related experience in a technical / manufacturing environment is an asset but not required
Able to contribute to a team-oriented environment and possess strong interpersonal skills
