Operational Support Officer Location: Leeds Pay: £12.86 per hour rising to £13.25 per hour after 12 weeks in assignment Job Type: Temporary Sector: Public Sector Hours: 37 hours a week (Monday to Friday) About the Role We are currently recruiting for an Operational Support Officer to join a busy and rewarding public sector environment supporting the delivery of justice across England and Wales. This is a varied and busy role where you'll be helping court and tribunal users, supporting hearings, and ensuring services run smoothly day to day. You'll work closely with colleagues, judicial office holders, and partner agencies while providing excellent customer service to members of the public. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with people, and being part of a team that makes a real difference. What You'll Be Doing Your duties may include: Supporting the preparation and smooth running of court and tribunal hearings, ensuring all documentation and systems are ready for proceedings Handling face-to-face, telephone, email, and digital enquiries from court users, legal professionals, and partner agencies Providing clear guidance and support to members of the public, including vulnerable users and those with additional needs Processing casework, maintaining accurate records, and updating internal systems in line with procedures and data protection requirements Managing legal documents, correspondence, hearing notices, and administrative tasks to support the progression of cases Assisting with scheduling, listings, jury administration, and other operational activities to help services run efficiently Working closely with colleagues, judicial office holders, and external stakeholders to deliver an effective and professional service Responding professionally to sensitive or challenging situations and escalating issues where appropriate You may also support hearing room activity by assisting judicial office holders, preparing case materials, and ensuring hearings run smoothly on the day. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Reliable Organised and able to manage a busy workload Confident communicating with a wide range of people Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital systems Professional, resilient, and calm under pressure A strong team player with good attention to detail Passionate about delivering excellent customer service Previous administration or public sector experience would be desirable but is not required.
