Job Description:

Operational Support Officer (Court Based). Location: Cardiff Crown Court. Pay: £12.86 per hour. Contract: Temporary until 30/11/2026 (with potential for extension). Start Date: ASAP. Brook Street are currently recruiting for an Operational Support Officer to join a busy and important public sector organisation within the justice system. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the smooth running of court services while gaining valuable experience in a professional and impactful environment. The Role: This is a varied and engaging position combining administrative responsibilities with hands on court support. You will play a vital part in ensuring court proceedings run efficiently and that all participants are supported throughout the process. Key duties include: Supporting the preparation and smooth facilitation of court hearings; Aiding court users, legal professionals, and stakeholders; Responding to enquiries in a professional and timely manner; Carrying out general administrative duties; Following complaints procedures where necessary; Managing courtrooms and ensuring they are set up correctly; Acting as a point of contact within the court, including ushering duties; Supporting juries, judiciary, and members of the public attending court. This is a fast-paced role where no two days are the same, offering a unique insight into the justice system.
