Job Description

Our client, a reputable organisation within the justice system, is hiring for a full-time temporary Operational Support Officer at Chester Crown Court. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the smooth running of court proceedings in a busy environment. The contract is initially for 3 months, with the possibility of extension, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The hourly rate is £12.86. This role will primarily be Court Usher duties with admin tasks as the secondary focus.

Job Responsibility

  • Welcome and assist court users, including judiciary, legal representatives, police, and the public
  • Call parties into court, coordinate hearing schedules, and liaise with clerks and witnesses
  • Prepare courtrooms, support hearings via video link, and manage courtroom logistics
  • Provide clear information about proceedings and support users with diverse needs
  • Handle administrative tasks such as updating systems, managing correspondence, and preparing files
  • Support enforcement activities, scheduling, and judicial diary management
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed, including safety checks and issue logging

Requirements
