Job Description

The Operational Planning Manager is responsible for planning and managing production weekly, monthly and annual plans & schedules to meet sales forecast requirements and best utilize the company’s resources and productive capacity.

Job Responsibility

  • Translating Commercial Business Plan into Production Plan
  • Lead the translation of the annual business plan into a monthly production schedule using ERP planning systems, applying rough-cut capacity planning to identify required resources (warehouse space, pallets, additional capacity, logistics), highlight constraints, and ensure alignment with business priorities
  • Develop monthly production plans based on supply network capabilities, sales budget and forecast, production capacity, material availability constraints, planned shutdowns, marketing requirements, and target Days Sales of Inventory (DSI), ensuring optimal utilization of production lines
  • Manage phase-in and phase-out plans for finished goods, minimizing obsolescence and ensuring effective depletion of residual stock
  • Support new product launches and marketing campaigns by ensuring production readiness and timely market availability
  • Lead integrated scenario planning within ERP and cross-functional platforms, evaluating multiple supply-demand scenarios and driving alignment on the most feasible and actionable plan
  • Lead capacity planning and validation across all segments, ensuring sufficient capability to meet demand over a rolling 5-year horizon and highlighting risks and required investments
  • Develop monthly Production schedules maintaining agreed inventory levels
  • Lead the operational planning team in translating demand forecasts into actionable, system-driven production plans through effective use of ERP planning systems, ensuring alignment with business targets and operational constraints
  • Drive alignment with Demand and Supply Planning teams, leading discussions to ensure accurate execution of market requirements, including special SKUs
  • Provide key inputs to Material Planning and Supply Planning to support the development of robust inventory strategies across existing products, new launches, and product discontinuations
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning, Logistics, and technical teams to develop and optimize supply network and production plans across annual, monthly, and weekly horizons, leveraging ERP tools and insights
  • Ensure master data accuracy and integrity within the ERP system in coordination with relevant stakeholders, enabling reliable and efficient planning processes
  • Support and Develop Production planning Team
  • Lead and manage the production planning team, ensuring effective execution of all planning activities and optimal utilization of ERP systems to deliver accurate and actionable production plans
  • Establish and implement standardized policies, procedures, and workflows to drive consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across planning processes
  • Drive the development and enhancement of planning tools, ERP reports, and dashboards to improve visibility, decision-making, and overall planning performance
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, enabling the team to identify and implement opportunities to enhance planning accuracy, responsiveness, and system utilization

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Logistics
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in production or supply chain planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of production processes, capacity planning, and supply chain operations
  • Proven experience in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for production planning and scheduling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven decision-making approach
  • Effective leadership and people management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • High level of numeracy and data handling capability, with strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
