Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Equipment Technician to join our team on a full-time, fixed term basis. You will be a key member of a small team, working in a busy department, dealing with all aspects of Centralised Breathing Apparatus and progressing to work with our appliances and equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Testing, servicing and maintaining various items of equipment
Ensuring equipment is kept in working order and meets legislation
Recording tests where appropriate
Working with Centralised Breathing Apparatus and progressing to work with appliances and equipment
Dealing with all stations and departments across the service
Requirements:
Excellent written communication
IT skills
Ability to develop strong working relationships with staff at all levels
Enthusiastic
Proactive
Able to work at high level of detail on a strict maintenance programme
Able to work as part of a team as well as on their own
Must not allow facial hair to impair the integrity of the BA face mask seal (area must be free from any hair growth)
Background and experience of equipment maintenance would be an advantage but not essential
